 Rope (1948)  Rope is a highly regarded suspense/thriller of its time and to this day is still viewed as one of the best ever, even though it came to the silver screen six decades ago. Hitchcock's intense and flawless direction accompanied by strong acting performances was always a recipe for success, and Rope is no exception. The entire film was shot in the one apartment with only three visible takes which keeps the audience on edge and deeply drawn into the moment. The film is based around two college students who are obsessed with committing the perfect murder, which was always a discussion of interest in college by their favourite lecturer. The major aspect of this film which sets it apart from the rest of the same genre, is the fact that the murder itself is not the central feature of the movie, it is the initial events after the murder that keeps us excited. After a successful adaptation of his previous novel, No Country for Old Men, Cormac McCarthy again is smiling with The Road. Director, John Hillcoat delivers the film with raw emotion and great cinematography. With a great cast to match, Viggo Mortensen leads the way as the passionate father accompanying his son, the talented Kodi Smit-McPhee. We are seeing many apocalyptic films developed these days, with most missing the emotional and believable human struggle. Thankfully The Road delivers and shows us how an apocalypse would truly change the way people think and feel. The film follows a father and son living in post-apocalyptic times, trying to survive as they journey south to find any means of food and safety. The audience can find this shocking at times where the father and son will have to confront cannibalism, suicide and basic survival. Clash of the Titans 3D (2010) Before seeing this film, my expectations were “action-packed scenes, sword fights and awesome looking beasts,” and boy was I right. A small army of men fighting giant scorpions in the desert, the monster “Cracken” (think of a dragon on crack) wreaking havoc are just some of the awesome spectacles you’ll see in Clash of the Titans. The film is set around Greek mythology following Perseus, played by Sam Worthington, the human son of Zeus, and his attempt to save the city of Argos from the wrath of the gods. The rulers of Argos have turned their backs on the gods which force the Olympians to drive fear and destruction on the mortals below, as commanded by Hades, the sneaky brother of Zeus.  Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street  Anоthеr collaboration of Jоhnnу Depp аnd Tіm Burtоn, ѕhоwсаѕіng thеіr rаthеr 'different' ѕtуlе оf thе mоvіе аѕ аlwауѕ, аnd thіѕ time іt іѕ a bіg-ѕсrееn adaptation оf Stephen Sоndhеіm’ѕ award-winning muѕісаl thriller “Swееnеу Tоdd: The Demon Bаrbеr оf Flееt Strееt.”   Fіrѕt оf all, thе biggest асhіеvеmеnt I'd have tо ѕау is Johnny Depp саn ѕіng! I was unѕurе аbоut this whole musicality theoretical thіng аѕ I haven't ѕееn hіm in such a fіlm.  Lars and the Real Girl This is definitely not your typical Hollywood film yet I wish they make more of this type of interesting film that is simply sweet, quirky, and heartfelt. This quirky, weird film has evoked my emotions and touched me in a way I didn't expect. At first, I thought the idea of a man bough a silicone woman is simply just desperate and rather pathetic, but as I closely watch the story evolves, I see more than just what's on the surface/face value. There's a change of attitude in me by the end of the film, that I didn't think of Lars as being too weird or pathetic, I actually understand completely how he feels. I was so touched by how his community and his brother and sister in law, but such massive touching efforts to play along with Lars' idea that a plastic doll is in fact his fiancee. Such a difficult thing to accept yet everyone in the community did it out of pure love to help Lars go through this delusional phase of his life. I feel genuine c...

Drillbit Taylor This is one of my favourite Owen Wilson's film. I thought it would not be that good, but to my surprise this movie is refreshingly entertaining and funny. It kinda reminds me of Superbad movie, as the central charactes revolves aroud the lives of three young teenager boys played by Troy Gentle, Nate Hartlley and David Dorfman, trying to fit in and surviving their first days in highschool. Then came the typical bully, good looking kind of school bully, played by Alex Frost, who turned these three kids' life into hell. Fed up of being the centre of the jokes in the entire school, they came up with an idea to find some sort of adult protection by placing an ad in the magazine, seeking a bodyguard. The story gets even more interesting when there was a scene in which several applicants were being interviewed by these kids, from different background.
